Zhi Jiu and his teammates soon took the stage for their performance. Mu Fu, invited as a special guest, was seated in the VIP section.
The atmosphere was electric—fans were going wild, shouting the names of Zhi Jiu and his entire team at the top of their lungs.
Watching the sweat run down Zhi Jiu’s face, Mu Fu felt a surge of pride. This man—he was going to be hers.
……
Days passed after the concert, but everyone was still talking about it. The media often spotted Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu out on dates, walking hand-in-hand. Whenever someone asked if they were together, they just stayed quiet, never saying yes or no.
Soon, it was time to film the third round of the show.
The second episode of “Darling, Let’s Get Married” had just aired two days before.
Before the episode even came out, the show’s team released a short clip. It showed Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu on the balcony of the stargazing suite, slowly leaning closer. The clip cut off right before their lips touched, leaving everyone hanging.
That clever edit got people super excited. So, when the full episode finally aired, viewers immediately skipped to Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu’s scenes. The production team knew this would happen, so they put their part right at the beginning.
“It’s finally here! If they waited any longer, I would’ve lost it!”
“They’re finally giving us something!”
“I’m freaking out. Please let their screen time be longer today. Progress bar, grow up and stretch yourself!”
……
The first part of the video showed behind-the-scenes footage from the perfume commercial Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu filmed together. People loved it, especially the parts that showed how often Zhi Jiu looked at Mu Fu. Those scenes were zoomed in and repeated.
Comments popped up on the screen:
“My ship is REAL. I’ll never be sad again.”
“This is exactly how it feels when I secretly like someone – scared to get caught, but can’t stop staring.”
“Mumu, turn around! Seriously, it’s driving me crazy! When are you two going to look at each other?!”
Soon after, the video switched to the actual show footage.
The moment the audience saw Mu Fu wearing the jersey Zhi Jiu had given her when they first met, the live comments went wild: “I’m shipping them so hard!”
Then the scene changed to them getting ready to watch a movie in the room, and comments flooded the screen again, almost covering it.
“If they’re watching a movie, something better happen!”
“I want to see them hold hands! Zhi Jiu, go for it—mama needs to see hand-holding with Mu Fu!”
“Can we get a premium version with the spicy scenes unlocked?”
On screen, they sat quietly for a bit, focused on the movie. Then Mu Fu handed Zhi Jiu a drink. He was startled and accidentally spilled it all over himself.
The viewers lost it.
Hu Xueping, glued to the TV, slapped her thigh in excitement. Her younger brother, who was playing a game nearby, gave her a strange look.
“Sister, what are you doing? It’s just a TV show. Chill.”
“You wouldn’t get it. Grown-up stuff. Go back to your little game.”
“Pfft,” he scoffed.
Meanwhile, in her dorm room, Dou Songyu was squealing in a whisper, “Aaaah! Zhi Jiu, just let her wipe it off! Stop being shy!”
But not everyone was on Mu Fu’s side. Some viewers weren’t impressed.
“Seriously? Mu Fu couldn’t keep her hands steady and dumped the drink right on his pants? Feels like she did that on purpose. What a schemer.”
“Excuse me? Are you blind? It was pitch black in there—obviously an accident. Not everyone’s as calculating as you.”
“Still, that move was kind of out of line. It had to be super awkward for him.”
The flood of comments didn’t stop for a second, but soon, no one had time to argue anymore. Because in the next moment, Zhi Jiu turned off the camera in the room.
The show aired the whole thing exactly as it happened.
The live chat exploded.
“Why turn it off?! I’m an adult! I can handle it!”
“Xiao Jiu, why so shy? We’re all family here—what’s there to hide?”
“This kind of behavior will set a bad example for kids! Why is the show even airing this?”
“Seriously? You think turning off the lights is somehow inappropriate?”
“Ignore her. People with dirty minds see dirt everywhere.”
Still, even with all the chatter, everyone was dying to know what happened next. But no matter how curious they were, there was no more footage to show. The camera was off, and that was it.
Luckily, after showing the cooking part, the episode finally moved on to the much-awaited “Starlight Room” scene—the one viewers had been waiting for ever since they saw that sneak peek.
In that magical room, under a sky full of stars and the soft glow of the moon, Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu sat side by side, enjoying the romantic moment. And then, just as everyone had hoped—the meteor shower began.
As Mu Fu ran out onto the balcony and turned back to look at Zhi Jiu, the show slowed the shot down. It was incredibly beautiful.
And then came the moment that made hearts across the country skip a beat: with the meteor shower streaking behind them, Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu kissed—deeply, gently, completely lost in the moment.
When the scene ended, the internet blew up. Hashtags started trending instantly: #ZhiJiuMuFuKiss #SweetestCPDearLetsMarry #MuFuZhiJiuMeteorShower
Even those who hadn’t seen the show were now completely hooked. People clicked in out of curiosity… and never looked back.
That night, Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu went viral—truly, undeniably, unmistakably.
So by the time they recorded their third episode, fans had already found their filming schedule and posted every little detail online. Nothing stayed hidden anymore.
The show’s team had planned for Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu to spend two lovely, sunny days in Hainan. They even titled the episode “The Honeymoon Phase After Marriage.” Their last time living together was like their “wedding,” so this trip to the tropics was the natural next step in their story.
It was the middle of summer, and Hainan was incredibly hot. But unlike other places, it had brilliant sunshine, white sandy beaches, and a sky-blue ocean that stretched forever.
Mu Fu knew where they were going beforehand and made sure her assistant packed the right clothes: flowy, pretty outfits and lots of sunscreen.
The moment she got off the plane, she put on a bucket hat and big black sunglasses. Her outfit was casual but smart: a white T-shirt under a light sun jacket, with loose, cream-colored knit palazzo pants. It was the kind of look that said, “I came prepared.”
Zhi Jiu looked at her, surprised. “Aren’t you hot, wearing all that?”
She gave him a look. Zhi Jiu, on the other hand, had fully embraced the tropical vibe—his bright floral shirt and colorful shorts screamed “beach!”
“Aren’t you worried about UV rays or getting sunburned?” she asked.
He scratched his head a bit sheepishly. “I put on sunscreen… that should do the trick, right?”
Mu Fu raised an eyebrow. “Ah, clearly you’ve never been burned badly by the sun. I suggest you put on a jacket.”
It was still summer, after all, and Hainan’s sun was brutal. The UV rays were no joke.
Just then, Zhi Jiu pulled an umbrella from his backpack. “I’ll share this with you—we won’t get burned if we stay under it.”
Mu Fu gave him a sideways glance. “Why don’t you just use it by yourself?”
Zhi Jiu grinned. “Because with you here, I finally have an excuse. Imagine a grown man walking around alone with an umbrella—that’d look weird!”
Mu Fu tried not to smile. “Ahem, well then… I suppose I’ll graciously share the shade with you.”
She stepped closer, and Zhi Jiu’s smile grew wider. He moved the umbrella more toward her side, making sure she was fully shaded—even if it meant his own shoulder was in the sun. He didn’t mind.
The production crew dropped them off at a beachfront resort. Their room? A sea-view suite with two beds—meaning for the next two days in Hainan, Mu Fu and Zhi Jiu would be sharing the same room.
The production team thought this plan was perfect—it would create just the right amount of buzz for the next episode.
The director made sure to explain things clearly to Zhi Jiu and Mu Fu. “Mr. Zhi, Ms. Mu, please know this setup is purely for the show. There’s no hidden agenda.”
No matter how the guests felt about it, the director still felt he needed to explain.
Zhi Jiu replied calmly, “We understand. Go ahead with the plan.”
Then the director turned to Mu Fu, who hadn’t said anything. “Ms. Mu, are you okay with it too?”
She nodded right away and said the same thing as Zhi Jiu. “It’s fine. After all, there are two beds.”
The director chuckled in relief. “Great! I won’t keep you any longer then. I’ll leave you two to get settled.”
Mu Fu and Zhi Jiu nodded politely as the director left.
Soon, it was just the two of them in the room. No crew would be filming directly inside; instead, several cameras had been secretly set up to record from a distance. Of course, the director had specifically reminded them that the cameras could be covered with towels at night, especially when they went to sleep—but they weren’t to be turned off.
“There’s a stack of towels nearby,” the director had explained before leaving. “You can cover the cameras when you go to bed… ahem, just remember not to turn them off completely.”
The moment those words left his mouth, Mu Fu blushed red with embarrassment. Out of the director’s sight, she reached out and pinched Zhi Jiu hard in the side.
“Ugh,” he grunted, trying to keep his polite smile through the sudden pain, but his face twisted a little.
The director noticed his expression and asked, “Mr. Zhi, is something wrong?”
“No, no, everything’s fine. We’ll follow the instructions,” Zhi Jiu said quickly, desperate to get the man out of the room—so he could deal with a certain mischievous someone.
As soon as the door closed behind the director, Zhi Jiu turned and lunged at Mu Fu.
But she was ready for him. She darted away with a laugh.
The room filled with playful laughter and the sound of footsteps as the two chased each other in a carefree game of tag.
In the end, Zhi Jiu caught her and tickled her until she was breathless, squirming and laughing, her face bright red. Only then did he let her go.
Mu Fu collapsed onto the couch, panting. “You’re so petty,” she huffed, staring at him.
Zhi Jiu leaned in with a teasing smile. “Then maybe this petty guy should keep getting his revenge… especially on someone who just talked behind my back.”
“I surrender, I surrender!” she cried out quickly. “I was wrong!”
