After rinsing off, both of them felt super refreshed, their bodies totally relaxed.
Seeing that it was still pretty early, Mu Fu couldn’t help but lie down on the big bed in the bedroom. Drowsiness quickly took over. Yu Mo didn’t wake her. Instead, he lay down beside her. Mu Fu was already deep in sleep, completely out of it.
Yu Mo moved carefully, gently pulling her into his arms without waking her up. After all, she’d been resting against him earlier in the hot spring. She was used to how comfortable his hug felt and didn’t pull away, even in her sleep.
Mu Fu, while sleeping, looked calm and delicate. Her head was tucked into Yu Mo’s arm, her face turned toward his chest. Yu Mo looked down at her, his eyes full of longing. A rare tenderness softened his expression.
His throat bobbed. His gaze landed on her lips—soft, flushed—and stayed there, not moving. Lowering his eyes to hide the feelings swirling inside, he leaned forward. Lips to lips, he finally tasted what he had wanted. The kiss was super light, like a whisper. His fingers brushed over her skin—it was as smooth as silk.
A soft sound escaped his throat. He had finally felt her warmth, smelled her scent. Even though he was gentle and held back, her softness stirred something deeper in him—she was sweeter, softer than he had ever imagined.
Now she was completely in his arms. Her body had absorbed his scent; his skin was marked by hers. Their warmth blended together in a quiet, intimate way. But it wasn’t enough. He wanted more. He wanted all of her—her breath, her body, her soul. He wanted the moment to become something deeper.
His breath got faster. One hand cradled her waist, careful not to squeeze too hard, afraid to wake her.
In her dreams, Mu Fu felt vaguely suffocated. She dreamt of a kind dentist playing with her tongue using soft fingertips. Whenever she tried to pull away, he followed, slowly cornering her until she had no choice but to give in.
Then the dentist gently wiped her teeth, the roof of her mouth, and every part of her from the inside, not missing a spot. Saliva pooled in her mouth—shiny, slick—but the gentle dentist used a warm cloth to wipe it all away.
Strangely enough, this skillful dentist also seemed to double as a massage therapist. His pressure was perfect, each touch easing the tension in her body. Except… why did he spend so much time on her neck? That part felt a little sore.
The kind dentist even shared a secret technique for breast enhancement, assuring her that if she followed the steps every day, she’d reach a D-cup in no time. Mu Fu listened carefully, really wanting to learn. Following the pressure points he showed her, she pressed down gently. Her blood rushed through her veins. The feeling was so good that a soft moan escaped her lips.
The dentist also paid extra attention to her legs, treating them with great care. Then, he asked a nurse to bring over a basin of water. One foot was supposed to soak for a while, then switch to the other. The only downside was that the water was a little too cool—not as warm as she liked. He even took tender care of the beautiful flowers she had brought with her.
All in all, besides some mild trouble breathing, Mu Fu felt this visit was amazing. She would’ve given this dentist a full five-star review—his technique was perfect.
When she finally woke up, she found herself still enjoying the dream, lingering in the memory of that overwhelming pleasure. And when she realized she was still wrapped in Yu Mo’s arms, she didn’t panic at all. His hand rested gently on her waist.
The room light was on—though she wasn’t sure when it had been turned on, or if it had been on the whole time. She hadn’t noticed. She stayed still, lifting her head to blink sleepily, her eyes drifting to Yu Mo’s face. He looked even more handsome while asleep. Her fingers reached out slowly, brushing against his fair skin. Her fingertips came to rest on his long eyelashes—they were so thick and long, she felt like she could swing from them like a trapeze. And then there were his perfectly shaped, tempting lips.
Peeking at his closed eyes to make sure he was still sleeping, she couldn’t help herself—she leaned in and gave him a quick kiss. She smacked her lips softly. Not much feeling… probably because it wasn’t a deep kiss. She didn’t dare go too far, afraid she might wake him and end up in an awkward situation. Whatever she was thinking made her eyes curve with mischief, her lips stretching into a huge smile.
But when she noticed the sky outside had turned dark and Yu Mo still showed no sign of waking, she started to panic. She nudged his chest lightly.
Actually, Yu Mo had already woken up when Mu Fu stirred. But he hadn’t moved, curious to see what she’d do next. To his slight disappointment, besides watching him for a while, she hadn’t done much of anything. Thinking of this, he pressed his lips together, then asked in a husky, post-sleep voice, “What’s wrong, A-Fu?”
Mu Fu pointed toward the window. “It’s dark—we should head back.”
“What time is it?”
“I don’t know,” Mu Fu replied. Her phone wasn’t with her, so she had no idea what time it was.
Yu Mo reached over, grabbed his phone, glanced at the screen, and said, “It’s six. Did you sleep well?” His gaze softened as he looked at her.
“Yep, more than enough,” Mu Fu nodded, stretching a little.
“Then let’s head back.”
Mu Fu went into the bathroom to change. As she looked in the mirror, she noticed something odd on her neck—tiny red spots, just a few millimeters wide. There weren’t many, so she didn’t think much of it. Maybe she’d had a slight allergic reaction. When she came out, she casually mentioned it to Yu Mo.
His eyes flickered. “Probably an allergy. I don’t have any marks like that. We’ll pick up some ointment on the way back, just in case.”
Mu Fu nodded. That seemed like the only explanation. Not long after, the two of them drove back to the villa.
The moment Mu Fu walked in, her eyes were drawn to someone lying on the couch, with Feng Ningran sitting next to her. She stepped closer and realized it was Wu Qingyi. Curiously, she asked, “Qingyi’s sleeping here?”
Feng Ningran shrugged. “She was already passed out when I got back. Pretty drunk too. Ding Binbing didn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone upstairs.”
Mu Fu glanced instinctively at Yu Mo. Wu Qingyi was his ex. Getting drunk like this—what else could it mean besides heartbreak? Yu Mo gently squeezed her hand. His girl was smart—of course, she’d figured it out. But he had no lingering feelings for Wu Qingyi. That little squeeze did the trick. Mu Fu’s mood instantly lifted.
“Well, it’s fine if she’s down here. We probably won’t be going upstairs tonight anyway. Ningran, we’re gonna head up to change.”
From the kitchen, anyone could easily see what was happening in the living room. Xu Kangning kept his hands moving as he cooked, but his eyes drifted toward the people outside again and again.
“Kangning, how do I cook this? Do you know? Kangning? Kangning?” Xia Sihan came over to ask about the yam—she wasn’t sure what to pair it with. But Kangning seemed lost in thought, completely missing her question.
“Ah—right, soup. I think we still have pork ribs in the fridge,” he replied after snapping out of it.
“Great. Can you peel the yam for me? I don’t like touching it,” she said, her eyes flicking subtly toward the living room. Mu Fu and Yu Mo had just gone upstairs. That left only Wu Qingyi and Feng Ningran. So who had Xu Kangning been staring at? Well… considering today’s little outing, Feng Ningran seemed like the most likely suspect.
“Yep, you can take the ribs out,” Xu Kangning said, taking the yam from her and reaching for a peeler.
“The peeler’s over here,” Xia Sihan quickly offered, handing it to him.
“Thanks.”
“No need to thank me!” she replied with a bright smile.
……
Mu Fu reached out and gently tugged Yu Mo’s sleeve to stop him from walking further upstairs.
“What is it?” Yu Mo turned slightly, glancing at her.
Mu Fu asked, almost casually, “Aren’t you at least a little curious about what happened to Wu Qingyi today?”
“Why would I be curious?” Yu Mo raised an eyebrow, genuinely confused.
“Oh come on, how could you not be?”
He stopped in his tracks, turning to meet her gaze directly. “A-Fu… did you figure something out?”
“Figure what out?” she dodged, looking away, clearly avoiding the question.
Yu Mo chuckled softly, ruffling her hair. “It’s nothing. But just so you know, there’s nothing between me and Wu Qingyi. Not now, not ever.”
Mu Fu nodded obediently. “Mm, I was just casually asking.”
At the split in the upstairs hallway, they went their separate ways. Yu Mo watched her back as she walked away, the corners of his eyes softening with quiet affection.
By the time Mu Fu came downstairs again, dinner was already ready.
Xia Sihan looked up and said, “Mu Fu, can you go call everyone down? The food’s all set.”
“Sure.”
When she noticed Yu Mo wasn’t around, she figured she’d check upstairs to see what he was doing.
“What are you up to?” she asked as she knocked.
Yu Mo opened the door. “Editor just messaged me about something. What’s up?”
“Dinner’s ready. I came up to get you guys.”
From inside the room, Ding Binbing’s voice called out, “Who is it? Did someone say dinner’s ready?”
Yu Mo turned back slightly and responded, “Yeah, it’s ready.”
Then he looked back at Mu Fu. “I still need to finish up here. I’ll head down with Ding Binbing in a bit. You go on ahead—no need to wait.”
Mu Fu tilted her head and teased, “Who said I was waiting for you? I’m starving. I’m going down now.”
She turned and walked down a few steps, but then paused and glanced back. “Oh, right—I haven’t told Rong Yongxin dinner’s ready. Can you call him for me later?”
“Sure,” Yu Mo replied with a faint smile on his lips.
When Mu Fu came down alone, Xia Sihan looked around and asked, “The others aren’t eating?”
“They are,” Mu Fu replied. “They’re just busy with something and will come down later.”
“Okay,” Xia Sihan nodded. “Can you help me bring out the dishes?”
“Sure.” There were six dishes in total—enough for eight people—so the trays were a bit heavy.
Xu Kangning offered, “Let me help, Mu Fu.” He reached for the plate in her hands.
Mu Fu stepped aside and lightly dodged his hand. “It’s fine. If you’re free, grab the others instead.”
“Alright,” he said, understanding. If he took care of the rest, she wouldn’t need to make another trip.
Watching the interaction between the two, Xia Sihan’s smile slowly faded.
“Kangning, could you go check if Qingyi wants to come eat?” she said.
“Huh? Isn’t Wu Qingyi asleep?” Xu Kangning frowned slightly. “Why wake her?”
“It’s not good to skip dinner,” Xia Sihan replied softly. “She should at least eat something before going back to sleep.”
Xu Kangning thought for a moment and nodded. “Okay. If she really doesn’t want to, I’ll set aside a plate for her and warm it up when she wakes.”
Xia Sihan didn’t object—her goal was simply to get him out of the room and away from Mu Fu. But to her disappointment, Xu Kangning didn’t leave right away.
Mu Fu walked ahead, and Xu Kangning followed closely behind, his gaze fixed on her the entire time. Xia Sihan bit down on her lower lip, unable to hide the trace of frustration in her eyes.
